Oi! London!

Oi! Man, are we ever having a jolly good time in London right now! I love this city. Why have I never been here before?
This is Carl Spring. He was attending today’s OneLight. He’s an amazingly good dude.
Cheers, Zack

How long are you in London for? As you might gather from the names, I am a local. It’d be good to catch up, do a photowalk.
Parkylondon said on September 12, 2010
Oh, and one more thing. Please. No more Mary Poppins.

Yo Zack
Was this photo taken with an umbrella and gridspot at the center to give it that feathered look?
Cheers lad!

Hi Zack, your wide angle shots are phenomenal. I like it. Have a good time in UK. — Carlos from New Zealand

Nikon – That’s Carl Spring. Updated the post with a link to his site. He’s a rad dude.
Cheers,

Mars – This was shot with a 60″ reflective umbrella half way closed down. The grid with soft chaser would have worked well here as well.
Cheers,
Zack

Zack, you look and talk like someone who is born there, should feel right at home!

I don’t know how you never went across the pond to London but glad you’re enjoying it. Wish you could go to Wales, Scotland, Liverpool, etc. There’s just too much to see.

You’re in London? Missed that.

Crap – didn’t realise you were in town.
Any Onelight socials at all ? Would love to attend one.
Daf said on September 13, 2010
Actually – there’s a point there – if I’d have known I might have come along to a workshop even – but even though I’m a fan of yours I’d not heard of it. Dropped ball somewhere ?
Don’t think people would mind if you publicised your workshops a bit more on here.
Also http://www.onelightworkshop.com has no RSS type feed.

Daf – It dropped off the site because they sold out. Sorry you missed it! I will be back.
Cheers,
Zack
PS – I make a point of not overly publicizing my workshops. Sign up on the mailing list for updates.

Cheeky of you to pop this up when I wasn’t looking!
Good to meet you dude, such an amazing day. I thought we were going for a classic beauty shot though, lol.
Honestly one of the best days ever, and you have kicked my arse in a lot of good ways, and I promise I will keep you updated on the next stages. If you need another Viking and I happen to be in ATL, just give me a shout!

So when are you going to make the big trip down under?
Levy Carneiro Jr. said on September 13, 2010
Zack,
great great fan here
Is that “oi” from Portuguese? (which means “hi” in English)
Cheers!
Levy
zack said on September 14, 2010
@Levy – Oi is slang for “Hey!” in the punk scene. It can be used in a friendly manner or a confrontational manner. “Oi Mate!” or “Oi! Look at me again an’ I’ll kill ya.” It’s said to be taken from the greek word “polloi” which means working people. In America there is a negative connotation to using the term “Oi” because it was adopted by the skinheads.
Cheers,
Zack

Love the first 2 shots from the post.
I think you still have a little bit of a “douchebag” in you with the brick wall for a musician as the first photo. hahaha.
Keep up the great work and stop teasing with the “strangers” portfolio.

Zack,
Thanks for an amazing day on Sunday. A long day, a lot to take in but so enjoyable. I haven’t been able to concentrate on the office job since – keep getting ideas in my head that I want to go out and try!
Hope you enjoy the rest of you trip over here, and I look forward to sharing a pint or two with you again, next time you’re back in London. I promise to have those numbers committed to memory but then!
@Carl Spring – Great to meet you on Sunday mate and look forward to seeing “the next stages” on your website.

Hey Zack,
Would email this to you, but if I’m not mistaken watching one of your critiques, that is probably not overly effective
.. Just wanted to share this with you… After catching up on all of the critiques I had do some really deep thinking about my own creative vision. Hope you enjoy the read if you have a couple minutes.
