OneLight Family Tour :: Photography & Music :: City Reps Needed

February 22, 2010 | Events News • Workshop

I take pictures. Meg makes music. I go out and take my pictures. Meg goes out and plays her music. What if we combined them? And what if we brought the whole family? And made it a road trip with workshops and concerts?

That is what we are doing this summer! The OneLight tour starts this June and we are hitting the road for three weeks. From Asheville to Nashville with photography and music all along the way.

You know those mixers we like to throw before a OneLight? Well Meg is playing our mixers this summer! We are really looking forward to it. We hope to meet many of you along the way. Mixers, BTW, are open to the public!

To make things come together and have a successful tour, our City Coordinator, Kara Pecknold, needs to find city representatives for each city we plan to visit:

June 29/30 Asheville, NC July 1/2 Washington, DC July 5 Pittsburgh, PA July 6/7 Cincinnati, OH July 8/9 Indianapolis, IN July 11/12 Chicago, IL (city rep already found) July 13/14 St Louis, MO July 15/16 Nashville, TN

If you want to work with us on this unique OneLight experience, contact Kara directly and she can provide you with more information about all it entails. kara [at] olivelifegroup [dot] com.

For more information about the dates of the workshops visit OneLightWorkshop.com.

Cheers, Zack

  • cad said on February 22, 2010

what? no dallas texas? we get no love? come on, it’s the biggest state!

  • Justin Keitch said on February 22, 2010

    What, no Canadian cities?

  • Howard Haby said on February 22, 2010

Really cool idea. Hope you all have fun. You should add some locations in Canada sometime. We’re friendly!!

  • markspomer said on February 22, 2010

and what about Phoenix, where we can still shoot and carry guns (but most of the shooting is with Canon’s) ;-)

  • Jeff said on February 22, 2010

What happened to the Chicago stop? It’s actually pretty nice around here that time of year and I’d even feed you guys.

  • zack said on February 22, 2010

Chicago has already sold out and we have a city rep already. So, Chicago is good to go. Sorry for any confusion.

    Cheers,
    Zack

I have started to send work back to some of my connections in Cincinnati. I hope the summer tour rocks!

  • Ty said on February 22, 2010

Sounds like an awesome time. Hopefully that airstream has AC ;-) .

  • Rhonda said on February 22, 2010

So much fun, but I really hope you’re planning a kickoff/homecoming concert/mixer in ATL. Us hometown folks shouldn’t be deprived of Meg’s lovely music. :)

  • Terry D. said on February 22, 2010

Go west young family… specifically San Francisco!

  • Paige Conley said on February 22, 2010

    Interested in Cincinnati! ;)

  • Savannah Kenney said on February 22, 2010

I think you should extend the trip to Memphis, just 3 hours out side Nashville and home to some great music. Come on you can’t stop at Nashville if this is a music tour! Nashville will just leave you depressed with its country music; you need to experience some soul!!

  • J.J. Merrick said on February 22, 2010

Yay Nashville! Can’t wait to meet you guys.

  • andy said on February 22, 2010

Two great excuses to take a trip up to Asheville, NC.

  • Michelle said on February 22, 2010

I totally 2nd Phoenix… so what if it’s only 110 degrees… c’mon… keep coming West. Our music scene is really great, too.

  • Tammy said on February 22, 2010

I would jump on the Pittsburgh one but don’t know for sure that I’ll get home this summer.

I’m signed up for a workshop with you in Dubai, though, so I can’t complain!

  • DB said on February 22, 2010

Come visit Okinawa, Japan!!! I would love to have you stay with us :)

  • Frank Pajonk said on February 22, 2010

Wy do you do this to your wife and kids? Try: Monterey Aquarium, SF, SB, LA, Universal Studios, Disney, SD, Sea World instead.

  • zack said on February 23, 2010

Frank – We’ve done the whole standard Disney, Universal, Sea World stuff. We like to give the kids different experiences. They are so much looking forward to living in a tour bus for three weeks! It will be crazy but it’s going to be quite the adventure! We planned this so we will be in DC for the fourth of July. That trumps Disney!

    Cheers,
    Zack

I sent Kara an email but I’m traveling this week and I’m not sure I have this whole mobile/Interwebs thing figured out. The string between the cans ran out 150 miles ago.

Newcastles will be put on ice shortly to ensure maximum chilly refreshment for June!

come to San Francisco! Would be glad to help out!

  • Bogie said on June 2, 2010

I’m trying to get started in Pittsburgh – Let me know what is going on, or if you need a hand. The city doesn’t seem to have a great deal of a “support system” for photography, and I’m guessing a lot of the folks here mostly do business with NYC folks…
